Manchester Rains is a unique jazz ballad exploring themes of longing, loss and love. Written by composer and songwriter N. R. Whitaker, the song centres around the piano and cello and depicts someone living in the ‘rainy city’, who amidst the loneliness and isolation of city life – and their own experience of pain and loss – continues to hope and reach out for love.

The song is from the composer’s forthcoming album Dead End Opening (98-08) which is due to be uploaded soon.
