This is the second video to feature Alan Astley’s beautiful, atmospheric photography. The sequence of black and white photographs leads us slowly into deserted, out-of-the-way places. N. R. Whitaker’s slow accompanying music, based on Gregorian chant, draws the observer deeper into that place of quiet meditation and reflection.
The title is taken from Sonnet 60 by William Shakespear. As time passes we experience pain, the loss of youth and change; yet the things that are truly praiseworthy remain – beauty, nature, hope, and of course, love.
